About Me
Hi! My name is Fernando Alvarez.
I'm a computer engineering student, finishing my final year of studies. I created this website as a portfolio project to showcase a bit about who I am.
You can also download my CV if you're short on time.
(But I recommend exploring the site—it's more complete! 😉)
Something More
I am a creative, enthusiastic, and curious person, the type of individual who loves to learn and is always seeking new interests. I consider myself to have a rather artistic side despite being an engineer. I approach my work with a systematic and disciplined mindset, and among my hobbies are making video games, graphic design, web development, and anything that involves crafting and creating something— which I love the most.
Below, you will find projects and skills I have developed over the years. They won't all be listed, but you'll get a better idea of what I do.
But. What are my

WattCheck
Wattcheck was the result of the HackUDC 2024, a hackathon where, along with three other teammates and a rollercoaster of emotions, we built a website that allows you to view your electricity consumption in a visually appealing way, along with some interesting statistics. We didn't win the grand prize, but the company Inditex©️ gave us a special mention for the good design of the website.

The Butler
The Butler is a web app designed to make household task management more efficient and organized, whether by sharing responsibilities or keeping everyone at home informed. With The Butler, you can manage shared shopping lists in real-time, organize meal attendance, and collaborate without complications.

BirthVerse
BirthVerse is a website that allows you to search for a specific date and get a verse from the Bible that corresponds to that day. This project was made with the intention of learning how to use the Next.js framework and how to fetch data from an API.

More soon
I have some more projects, some semi-complete and others in progress (there's always something cooking 😉), but I only want to showcase things here that I consider decent enough to show.
Stay tuned for new updates!
Hopper
This is currently my only "official" game, the only one I've released on a public store like the PlayStore, since it's an Android game. It's not a very complex game, but it was a way to experience publishing a game.
The game is simple: using a ball and an elastic rope, you have to overcome levels with dozens of different minigames to see how far you can get.

BOB
BOB is the name of the little test subject I created when I wanted to experiment with making an NPC with AI, although looking at the code now, I'm not sure how much we can really call it AI. Nonetheless, it's fun to watch him get up to eat and jump for apples. You can try a demo at the link below.

WebGL Games
A while ago, I tried to make online multiplayer games based on WebGL. Sadly, due to various obstacles that got in the way, I couldn't fully achieve this. Nevertheless, a few small minigames remain—if they can be called that—to pass the time.
tHats All!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my portfolio!
